A living tradition, carried forward together
The 5 Animals Shaolin Kung Fu Association exists to preserve and share authentic martial arts — and to keep our lineage, values, and community thriving for generations to come.
About the Association
The 5 Animals Shaolin Kung Fu Association is a registered non-profit society in British Columbia, dedicated to preserving and sharing the traditional arts of Shaolin Kung Fu, Tai Chi, and Qigong.
Grounded in Daoist, Buddhist, and Chan principles, the Association is built on a simple belief: that martial arts are a path of personal growth, not merely competition. Through lineage-based teaching, we honour the wisdom passed down to us while making authentic training accessible to our community.
The Association is the guiding body behind Immortal Dragon Vancouver, ensuring our traditions, teaching, and ego-free culture are sustained well into the future.
Our Mission
Preserve and pass on traditional Shaolin Kung Fu, Tai Chi, and Qigong through modern, but lineage-based teaching.
Cultivate character over competition — discipline, humility, compassion, and inner strength.
Make authentic martial arts training accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds.
Build a welcoming community rooted in respect, friendship, compassion and shared practice.
What We Do
The Association supports a full life of practice and community, including:
Traditional Shaolin Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Qigong, Sanda, and Iron Body Qigong
